CMDRs Log 025. 25/02/3302 Almost a GREAT day!

That just about sums it up.I was having my best day yet. Fantastic missions, lots of credits, finishing off with a promotion to Squire. I even managed my best combat day with 5 bounties, quite good bounties too by my standard. nearly a quarter of a million credits total.
That's when it al went pear shaped.
I was heading back with my final mission to deliver water purifiers when I was jumped for the second time in the same system. The first one was a viper novice which didn't cause me any problems. Maybe I was on a high, thinking I was invincible. Anyway, I was just approaching the port when I was jumped again. No problem, I think.
BIG MISTAKE!
This guy was seriously tooled up in a Federal Assault ship. Before I knew what was happening, my shields had gone.
I turned tail and boosted out. Hit the jump button and prayed.
Toooo late!
A cool million and a half up in smoke.
I should have know better. I thought I was invincible.
It kind of put a dampener on the celebrations.
Aaaahhhh, well. Tomorrow's a new day. All I can do is learn from my mistakes.
