This is not the end.

Well, it's done. Salvation and Azimuth are putting the finishing touches on this Proteus Wave thingy that I've only just now heard about. I even hopped over to Ruin #1 and snagged them 512 tonnes of miscellaneous Guardian junk. I'm anticipating its activation here in a couple of days, because everything big seems to happen Saturday mornings around 0700. I was going to put the finishing touches on Ouranos and cut my teeth on a Cyclops, but I seriously doubt I can make it back to HIP 22460 before they set off the fogger. But I'm not worried. The AXI still anticipates bugs in HIP 22460 come Sunday. And I anticipate another deep bubble excursion in retaliation. Salvation and Azimuth think this is the bulk of their fleet. I think they're full of shit. They don't know how big this threat actually is. And when we drop the hammer...I don't think they're going to limp back to wherever they came from. I think they're only getting started. Thus far the combat arena has been space. But we've gotten pretty damn good at meeting them head on there. The new Scorpions couldn't have come at a better time, because I think they're going to start hitting our population centers with claws on the ground, massacring civilians and forcing us to meet them where they are. Given the effectiveness of Aliette clearing a settlement of scavs with a simple dumb fire missile rack, I don't know if we'll have to jump into Scorpions to deal with them. But then again, if civilians are involved, I sure as hell won't be chucking high explosive ordnance into the middle of them.
Yeah. Salvation's success has left him full of hubris. And if we know anything from classic literature of all kinds, hubris is always the downfall of the brilliant and powerful. I think he's going to have to eat crow sooner than later.
