Down bad

Somebody commented on my last logbook entry and said I was down bad. No duh. Someone else asked, "What if Nicole sees this?" She will. I don't care. She knows how I feel. I'm not trying to influence her in any way; I'm just tossing a heatsink out into the black. I did message her while I'm sitting here doing research, and it turns out she hasn't left the protected zone since she started. She keeps seeing horror stories about assholes floating around Deciat and other engineers' systems looking for innocent ships to prey on, she's worried about what will happen after the Proteus Wave goes off, she's petrified of setting out into the black for Palin.... She said she missed me. At least I know she's ok. At least I know she'll be safe. I offered to fly her out to see the ruins, but she's afraid of capital ship jumps. So, the bottom line is I can't go see her because of stupid permits, and she won't come see me until she gets out of her own way and gets over her phobias. C'est la guerre. My plan right now is to refit the Queen Motesh, my Python, for cargo instead of rescue. That way I'll have more than 64 tonnes of cargo space to haul junk back to the Morningstar and maybe I can grab more than 512 tonnes of stuff. I'll have to see if she'll fit on that little wedge shaped part of the ruin. I checked Canonn's database, and it looks like there are three patterns of Guardian ruins, and pattern beta (the same as Ruin #1) is the easiest to navigate. I might check some of the others to see if there are more dig spots, but being limited to 4 tonnes of stuff in the Scarab is still a pain in the ass, so I might just stick with the devil I know. I'll see if I can figure out how to read Canonn's maps.
