Trailing gun sights are the way to go

The manual doesn't really make it clear how they work, but after seeing a video of trailing gun sights for shard cannons vs. a Thargoid Interceptor, I decided to give them a try. Instead of a leading reticle that says where to shoot, you get a trailing reticle that says where the shots will go. It is a world changing experience, and I think using them forced me to be a little bit better with my maneuvering thrusters. I started the night last night in LHS 20 with my PA Vulture, Catarata, and it was immediately a better experience than the last time I used her to bounty hunt. Well, at least, it was until I poked the wrong wing with a Conda and a pair of FASes. They took my shields down pretty quick, and the Conda had an SCB, which always becomes a war of attrition. I had to cut and run.Second excursion of the night was in my Corvette, Bahamut. Jebus what a beast. I made short work of wings that would have given little Catarata a run for her money. The best part was, I was able to hop in my SLF to have some fun as well. I have a beam Taipan and a Condor with a plasma repeater on it, and once again, the trailing gun sights helped me land some of those hits that I never would have been able to with leading sights. The only thing Bahamut lacks that he probably needs is a Kill Warrant scanner. I have one on every other bounty hunting ship, and the extra warrants do add up pretty quick. Sometimes you can get an extra million in a wing of three high value targets. The only problem is those scanners are extremely power hungry, and the plant is already starved as it is. I'll have to rejigger it on paper before I take it out into the field. But honestly, with the juicy prismatic shield and a whole bank of boosters, I'm probably good to sacrifice one or two to get that extra cash. The build is designed for high intensity conflict zones, anyway, which don't have bounties to scan for.
I think today is the time to start getting in on the current gold rush and go hunting for some new xenozoa. Though, in all honesty I'll probably just use CMDR Spansh's tools to fast track the cha-ching. I have some new AX builds to try out, and I don't want to spend all the time re-outfitting Meershaulk, my Chieftain, so I'm going to just buy another Chief to screw around with. I want to try shards on a build, so maybe it's time to pay another visit to the AXI build repository.
