Log 003 - Formidine Rift Run

Today I struck out from the Soul nebula to the Heart Nebula, it was only 5 jumps in the DBX but the views were spectacular. The destination system was Heart Sector NS-T B3-1 and on the way I took this shot from between the two nebulas. I also stopped at Heart Sector DQ-Y C10 planet B5 because the system scan showed up some biological sites, so I set down at one and farmed the Bark Mounds for materials, made a good haul too.
The views just got better as I arrived at the waypoint in the heart of the Heart nebula (Heart Sector NS-T B3-1) so I took the opportunity get some more shots.
and set down on terra firma on planet A5 where I also made a sandwich and took the Scarab out for a picnic. What a place to take lunch!
After lunch I consulted some astrometric charts I found on Galnet and plotted my course so far. The chart also showed up an asteroid base at Heart Sector IR-V b2-0 called Farsight Expedition Base so I hopped over there to say hello to the locals and sell my cartographic data, may as well just in case I lose it.
My next waypoint was going to be Eafots EU-R C4-1, the site of the Formidine Rift Alpha Settlement, but the chart had a point of interest called Salome's World on the way so I called in and mapped it. Then I headed for Eafots EU-R C4-1. It took me about an hour to map the whole system including visiting the two Unregistered Comms Beacons. Finally I set down on planet C2 at the settlement site which is on top of a large mountain plateau. I took the Scarab out and scanned all of the data points, looks like the crews that came out here all those years ago went space crazy.
The place is deserted and eerie!
But i'll spend the night here and set off for the Beta Settlement tomorrow after I've scouted the immediate vicinity for anything else.
