Log 004 - Formidine Rift Run
04 Jan 2020Kris Afron
Having decided before I set out on this expedition that once I got to the Formidine Rift Settlements that I'd have a good snoop around the adjacent systems, that is just what I've been doing today. I set off early this-morning from the Alpha site and hopped to the 8 nearest systems ending up at Eafots LZ-H B10-0, the system with the Beta Site, which I scanned and mapped thoroughly. I landed just a little bit too far away from the settlement to get a good view of it, especially as it was only illuminated by a red dwarf star so the lighting was pretty dim.Having scanned all of the data points I proceeded to hit the surrounding systems investigating for anything that might help with this mystery. I know that plenty of other commanders have probably done the same, but doing it myself ensures that get the picture out here first hand.
More of the same leads me to the Gamma Site at Eafots RA-G B11-0, where for once the place was nicely illuminated.
The next system I visited, Eafots IA-Q C5-2 had 2 bodies with geological sites (A1A and A1EA) so I landed on both and gathered more materials - they'll always come in handy at some point. I just wish you could exchange elemental materials for manufactured and encoded ones at material traders.
I then plotted a course for Eafots GL-Y E2, where the Delta Settlement is located. 6 jumps which actually took me through some of the systems that I'd already scanned on my snooping visits, no new ones!
The Delta site was quite difficult to locate, it is in an area of Badlands, where the terrain is pretty rough.
I'm going to spend the night here so I'm writing this log while my dinner is cooking, I think I'll watch a Holovid when I've eaten and then get a good nights rest before I decide what to do next tomorrow morning.
I'm no closer to figuring out what happened out here, but then I guess nobody else is either.
CMDR Kris Afron signing off. Fly safely commanders and goodnight.
