Log 010 - Formidine Rift Run - The End
20 Jan 2020Kris Afron
So this is the last log from my Formidine Rift Run.The journey home was uneventful, via Jellyfish Sector FB-X C1-5, Seagull Sector DL-Y d3, Thor's Helmet Sector FB-X c1-5, HD 49368 and PMD 2009 48. Taking in a few colourful nebulae on the way, so i obtained a photo or two to add to my family album.
I'd stayed the night at Station X and set off the next morning via the Crab Nebula Pulsar.
I used the pulsar to get the FSD superchardes and made a 273ly jump out of there heading for the Asteroid Base at Beta Site and then onto the Seagull Nebula.
From here it was off to the Sagan Research Centre, with a view of the Thor's Helmet nebula.
From this point of view it really does look like a pair of wings or a butterfly.
I made a minor stop at BD-14 2129 to view the NGC 2438 Nebula which is a planetary nebula, the first one of these that I have visited, I believe.
My final overnight stop was at the Orion Nebula Tourist Centre, where apart from a good view of the nebula I managed to stretch my legs at the station "Mall" (if you could call it that), which was a bit primitive, but then it is only an asteroid base, so the amenities were a bit lacking. But the time was well spent getting a hot meal and exchanging stories with some commanders and tourists over a beer or two or three or ...
From here it was a straight 21 jump for home which took me less than hour.
So I'm back in the bubble now and i'll get back to normal business with a few missions and maybe some deep core mining.
I don't know what to conclude from the visit to the Formidine Rift sites and the Zurara apart from the fact that I think this particular part is already solved. What still needs to be sorted out is what or who was behind it all and maybe i need to visit the Conflux and Hawkings Drift sites to get closer to the agenda.
CMDR Kris Afron signing off. Fly safely commanders.
