Gone to Colonia - Log 01

Hell, it's been a long time since I wrote a log, the last one was May 2nd 3306!So, I tried out one of those Fleet Carriers on loan for a week or two but decided that I was going to need more funds to be able to make it work for me, so I de-commissioned it and set about building my wealth. Now I am a very wealthy man (by my standards at least).
Eventually though, in about the last few days of 3306 I decided to give the Fleet Carrier another go, and a year later I still have it. My entire fleet is aboard, which I've been building up slowly so that I eventually have at least one example of every ship available and I'm not far off that goal now. The fleet carrier has been very useful for exploration for me and I've taken it on at least three trips into the black. But moving it around is slow, at the most it will do 3 jumps per hour. So exploration has really been about taking the FC a few thousand ly and then using it as a base for exploring in another ship. This works pretty well.
Recently, now that the Colonia Bridge has been established I decided to make another trip to Colonia and bring the FC along. I did the trip just over 2 weeks ago and used it to visit every one of the new megaships on the way. In total it took me about 6 days. I did one side trip on the way in my Krait Phantom to the Blua Hypa Glowing Green Giant in Blua Hypa HT-F d12-1226.
It was a spectacular sight and well worth the visit,
But now I'm here and I'll stay for a while, my FC is parked in Colonia itself. So far I've used the time to gain access to the Colonia Engineers. Previously, on my first visit, on the return journey from visiting Sag A*, I managed to get Mel Brandon to grade three, but now, with all my ships here too, all of these engineers are up to grade five.
The Colonia area is compact, so all engineers are within easy reach, one or two jumps in a reasonable ship. Now, with all of my ships within easy reach of their facilities I can get them all engineered up to the eye-balls and experimental effects done too.
The mining is pretty good here too, so this has been a frequent activity so far. For the future I'm going to use Colonia a starting point for a few exploration trips.
