COMMANDER'S LOG MARCH 17TH 3305 - 61 VIRGINIS, FURUKAWA PORT

COMMANDER'S LOG MARCH 17TH 3305 - 61 VIRGINIS, FURUKAWA PORTMy name is Commander Michael Hammer. I've just finished prepping my Krait Phantom, the Nostalgia for Infinity, for its first trip - my first trip - into the center of our galaxy. The super massive black hole Sagittarius A awaits and I believe that the culmination of all of my experience for the past five years has prepared me for this expedition. Currently my exploration rank is set as Pioneer with the Pilot's Federation. Upon my return I fully expect to be elevated to Elite, granted I perform out in the black to/above my expectations.
I would be lying if I said that I wasn't a little worried, or even a little scared. The furthest that my systems of recorded mean leaving the bubble is a maxim of 20,000 light years. I'm not sure that's accurate.this trip is going to take me 22,500 light years from my current position here at 61 Virginis, most likely around 400 to 450 jumps. I've engineered my ship so that the frameshift drive can carry me 60 light years at a time. Despite that, I'm wary of my time alone in the unexplored depths of the Milky Way. Based on my experience of exploration prior I know that this is going to be a challenge for me.
I'm ready for it. The Nostalgia for Infinity is ready for it. My secondary objective to reaching and exploring Sagittarius A will be to discover and map as many water, ammonia, and earth like worlds as possible. With the resurgence of the Thargoids, and based on the scientific calculations of minds far greater than mine, intelligent life is supposed to be abundant in our galaxy. I believe that it is possible that said life is simply not as visible as one might think, and that earth like, water, and ammonia worlds will give us an indication as to how to look for said intelligent life.
My journey begins now, and while I'm not sure how long it will be until I'm back in the bubble again, one can only hope that my experience out there will be a valuable one.
