Pegasus Run 3305 - Day 20

Received comms from CMDR Vel Eshti.  Still several hundred light years out from Hypau Phlai VU-G d10-12 D3 Base Camp.  Listening to GalNet while I water my dashboard plant, as seems to be the current pattern, I hear yet another story about the fertilizer gone bad.  Can we agree at this point that it's no longer fertilizer, but in fact a genetically modified herbicide?  In fact it was recently discovered that the fertilizer was contaminated during production.  Everyone's trying to figure out who would do this.  Look to see who has the most to gain.  There's your vector Victor.

Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if it was one of the three sitting at the table.  Don't count out the little rich girl Aisling Duval.  You can't be that young with that much power without cutting a few throats along the way.  She's been sliding in the Galactic Popularity Contest.  This kind of stuff goes against everything she attests to, so obviously it's her.  What better way to weaken an enemy?  Attack the Alliance near Federation space. Still skeptical?  Consider this, the initial execution was targeted, but second and third order effects were not anticipated e.g., space truckers shipping that stuff all of the bubble.  Emotional and didn't include secondary consequences?  Just like a kid.  You heard it here first.

Anyway, speaking of cutting throats, I think I'm going to try to make a knife - ooh no a sword!  I am surrounded by an abundance of rocks and have some time to kill.  Let's see if I can make some minor modifications to my starboard aft belly thruster for the fire bit.  What could go wrong?

Hey guys, fun fact: my North Coast Cargo Bay Sweater TM is not only toasty warm when it's cold outside, but it's also surprisingly flame retardant.  Did you know stop - drop - and roll is nearly impossible to complete as stated in 0.07 gravities?  It winds up being more like stop - try to drop - panic - dive towards the ground - start rolling - bounce - spin in the air - bounce off the hull - well you get the drift.  As you may have guessed I am drafting this in the med bay dealing with a bit of exposure to vacuum.  Technically I didn't catch on fire for the record as there was no oxygen, but there was heat (thruster) and fuel (me) so there was a bit of meltiness involved.  My knock-off Jaques Quinentian Still is no more as I used it as the second part of the forge, thruster nozzle being the first part.  I'll be fine shortly enough.  Vel is about an hour out I'll be good to go by then.

Flemish Jack - meh

Seriously, I'll be fine.

Scorch marks, and the puddle of what once was a still, and hasty tracks back inside the ship via my SRV.  You can't see in this picture where bits of my flight suit were left behind.  Like I said, I'll be fine.
