Let Me Tell You About Thargoids

I'm trying to convey sarcasm in text, hopefully it's obvious.
Flower petal looking... Anyways, Thargoids. Why do I have to explain them? It's a big pile of please no and oh god why with a bit of end my misery, please sprinkled on top.
If you haven't heard of them, somehow. They are aliens, obviously I know, but aliens with far more advanced technology that anything we have seen. It's genuinely incredible and extremely dangerous. None of the faint of heart venture into AX conflict zones or go interceptor hunting. Most of the communication networks between pilots are still abuzz about the incident of a Thargoid pulling a pilot out of hyperspace within Sol itself. I think all of them vowed to never let them get close.
Samael, Kane, Shania, and I flew into the conflict zones frequently when it occurred, maliciously assaulting any scouts or interceptors we found in the area.
The technology that the Thargoids use is some sort of biologically based platform for which all of their technology seems to be based off of. It makes them far more resilient to normal weapons that exist. Which is why the AX series was introduced, bringing about a fighting chance for humanity to repel this threat to its existence. A lot of pilots out there didn't take the Thargoids as a threat for a very long time, just seeing them as a nuisance as much as the population thought of them. But it changed when they attacked Obsidian Orbital, leaving it crippled and in dire need of assistance to ferry refugees off of the station.
The entire thing was absolutely wild.
The Anti-Xeno Initiative (AXI) soon took the stage effectively and quickly rising up as the dominant force against the Thargoid incursions.
Beyond that my knuckles hurt from all of the mining I had to do to acquire more raw materials. But it has been a rewarding trial, even after the first run I've been able to make leaps with the engineers on work on the Mallet. The numerous hours spent in an srv felt absolutely monotonous. Regardless of the monotony, my driving skills have refined from the gathering runs. I still do the accidental and occasional drift, but it's getting better. Though at some point I just took a nap in the Mallet with a beer, viewing the darkness with a sleepy smile. Eventually I did finish up at the mine and just headed home to finish work on the engineering as normal.
That was my last beer, though. I need to get more. Wait, I should try a new drink. I'm starting to remember the regrets of drinking that six pack. Rum? Whiskey? Something sweet, sweet sounds good. I wonder if I should spend some time at the Drunken Navigator again or not... Eh, it'll make for a fun story if something happens again.
