Now, as I sit here in deep space, cleaning my ship and eating packaged noodles, the trip doesn't feel so dangerous. But when I left, knowing I would see no human face for a long time, have no means to dock and repair out in the void, I was absolutely terrified. I didn't think I'd make it without a scratch. It was a choice, go home and make myself an elite explorer....or go the distance.
Clearly, because I am writing this now....I chose the latter.
