The Bianchi incident part one

3307So now I have been dragged back into it....
After the merger of mercenaries, bounty hunters and other freelancers in Irula had more or less dissolved and the dream of controlling several systems had been shattered, I retired to HIP 17519 to a nice little asteroid base called "Pirates Lament", frustrated and plagued by depression. Wistfully, I remembered the long ago days when I was still full of enthusiasm and our group was throwing whole sectors into turmoil. Space was not big enough for us. We settled in Irula, founded Irula B4 Ltd. and took control of the entire system in a few bloody battles.
I reminisced about those glorious times...I had every intention of never coming back to the Bubble.... I didn't care about anything...
As a farewell to civilisation, I gave my niece Kendra another Diamondback Explorer to celebrate her passing her pilot's licence. She wanted to explore the void and accomplish great things....
My Anaconda "Olivia Quinton", named after one of the most famous pirates of the known systems, was rusting away in the hangar of "Pirates Lament".
The call sign of the Holofac emmitter jolted me out of my reverie....
Kendra ... Surely she wanted to tell me how she had upgraded her gunship, which she had bought in the meantime, and what she had experienced.
"Aunt Sharon, I could use your help. Have you heard about this Sassia Bianchi?" She was fidgeting back and forth in her pilot's seat all excited.
She told me a confused story about a young woman who had survived the destruction of your ship and now seemed to be searching for the reasons and the culprits.
A certain Commander White Wyfern had offered her information in exchange for 40 tons of leathery eggs!!! imagine that. As this Ms Bianchi seemed to have quite a bit of charisma, she had gathered quite a group of pilots around her to get her the rare and expensive goods.... and... unbelievable!
This aroused my curiosity and I set off for Pomeche.... there my personal mischief was to begin....
This White Wyfern was a cunning bastard, right up my street. He mercilessly exploited the naivety of this young pilot and made off with his prey. However, he had done the math without Bianchi's entourage. A merciless manhunt across the known space followed... My respect for this exceptionally good pilot grew and grew.
But in the end they got him...almost. With a crazy manoeuvre he tried to escape and crashed into the ship of one of his pursuers. Only thanks to an escape pod was he able to disappear again.
I absolutely had to meet this man.
But things turned out differently...
My efforts to contact this pilot did not go unnoticed. One of my intermediaries approached me and made me a very lucrative offer....
to be continued...
