A Kingdom for a Horse

13 Nov 2016Pax Rabbit
A visit to the Pilot's Federation office has been in order during the past fortnight in order to address a couple of clerical errors... the first of these being a pilot name change as data corruption in the initial registration stream had my name wrong (Pax was corrupted into SRK). The second being that our fledgling independent group had an executive meeting to formalise the name of the group as AOPAC was deemed too unwieldy and confusing. As of a little over a week ago we have formalised our official name to match an internal nick name we had been bantering around behind closed doors - we are know known as The Grey Council.

After doing some running around for the Federation I have finally been granted the rank of Rear Admiral and with it permission to buy a Federal Corvette. After a quick trip to Jameson Memorial shipyard my rank was confirmed by the shipyard owner and I was handed the keys to a new Corvette in exchange for a large wad of my savings. I decided to fully mothball my T9 and Beluga in order to be able to kit out my new ship "Crusader Rabbit" with internals and weapons.

While not at full A-grade specification the Crusader Rabbit is still a formidable vessel and has essentially replaced the Alpha Rabbit as my flag ship. With this change to my fleet some pirates decided to send mainly FDLs and Anacondas after me while I jumped around main space getting the Crusader Rabbit tweaked by various engineers. Even without the tweaks I have managed to beat off the various hostile pilots who thought that this unassuming pilot was easy prey.

My next choice is whether to build up my reputation with the Imperials so I can add a Cutter to my fleet or prepare myself for long trip outside of known space. For now, the choice is relatively simple as I still need to build up a reserve of funds so doing some trading with the Imperials and running some missions for them would help with that goal. I just need to avoid combat as much as possible until I feel I am ready to attract the attention of the more experienced pirates and other ne're-do-wells. It is inevitable that it will happen at some point but the longer I can keep a relatively low profile among the combat ranks the better I will like it.
