Combat

I decided to break in my new ship, the INV S117. A four million credit viper mark four. So, as I was sat in the docks, I set my course for a nearby low intensity conflict zone.
The flight there was reletively peaceful. I was only interdicted by an Eagle. Those shields may be good, but a short burst of my multi cannon turns it to so much debris. When I finally got there, I picked my side, and plunged head first in to that combat. My first target was an Asp Scout. It took me a while, but I left that pilot in the black. I cued up my next target, an Imperial Fighter that was buzzing my ship. I wasn't too worried, it was barely making an impact on my shields, and I doubt it would have survived a collision with my hull.
It was a nimble little bugger though, and I spent longer than I'd like on it, but we were about seven kilometres out of the combat then.
All power to the engines, and I started to boost, a fellow Viper pilot came in to my sights, and we began that such same dance. Spinning, circling, jumping around. Constantly diverting power to shields, my system, or engines.
Another pilot took aim though, and soon I made up my mind as my canopy began to creek.
All power to the engines. Head on out, my hull is at 30%.
The canopy groans even more, and finally gives out. Sophia, the AI chiming in over the most obvious fact. I'm not too worried, I have twenty five minutes of air remaining.
My panel is still lit up, from a fragmentation cannon firing at my, and my hud finally goes dark.
"Eject, eject, eject."
Thank you Sophia.
So, I'm lay out in the medical wing of Chelomey Orbital. My escape pod got me out of their safely, though I had to get a good dose of Progenitor Cells to replace the leg I lost.
I kind of wish I could reprogram Sophia to tell me to keep all my arms and legs within the ride now.
Anyway, I learned a few things.
My loud out was garbage, those beam lasers spent more time over heating than they did firing, and my multi cannons needed to be the bigger guns.
That's all being fixed now, but my leg really itches right now. The doctors say it's psychosomatic, because the leg can't feel right now.
I'll be out there in the black soon.
