Running

It's been... a strange past few days. My commitments on Earth were all finally fulfilled last week - and I couldn't have been happier to finally be able to head out back out into the black - but before I left I got some news that... well, let's just say I'd rather not relive it right now. But It was bad, so I just did what I knew I finally could - I ran. I grabbed Infinite Starlight, and I ran as far as I could. I was planning on leaving the bubble for a while, just to get away from it all. That's what I was going to do but... 18 jumps later I found myself deciding that just running away wasn't going to solve any of my problems. Not really. It wasn't going to undo what happened back on earth, it wasn't going to help any of the factions or people I should be supporting, and it certaintly wasn't going to get me into the Cutter that I've so desperately been chasing.
So I did the semi-smart thing - I ran as far as I could from the bubble while still being helpful - I ran to Fehu. From there it's.. really all sort of a blur. I remember that I was flying Infinite Starlight, and I know that I wasn't doing any fighting - she's unarmed after all. I also remember taking any and every job I could to make money - and to boost my rank with the Imperial Navy - while I was out there. I smuggled goods, hauled some legitimate cargo, carried and smuggled more information than I ever thought possible... I just went. I hopped from station to station, to and from the edges of the bubble out in Fehu.
Now, things are looking up quite a bit. I'm a Duke in the Imperial Navy. I've purchased and am in the process of outfitting a brandy new Cutter for trade, and I've received communications from Earth that looks to have at least partially resolved the issues I was running from. Not quite to my satisfaction, granted, but things are smooth. I also spent parts of last night bounty-hunting in Sundered Star with a friend, doing some good work helping out make the bubble just a little bit safer for everyone here. It's been... a strange and numb week, but it looks like things are starting to shape up and come together.
