Night in the Lagoon

I originally intended to go farther out towards the neutron fields today than I wound up making it but... I decided to make a slight detour into the Lagoon nebula. I landed on the dark side of a moon here and just set down to take a rest. As my eyes adjusted to the lack of light from this systems sun, I was... well, honestly, I was left speechless. The night sky on this moon is absolutely spectacular. I don't know why this surprises me, since I've spent nights out in the Pleiades nebula before but... They lacked the greens that Lagoon has. There was also something special about the way these clouds formed in the night sky. The green clouds of the nebula formed a shape that just really reminded me of a Halo ring - the mega structures from some of my favorite science fiction games from the past. Those games are probably why I ever even became a pilot, despite their age.
So, in Lagoon planning on taking a short sightseeing break, and I wound up staying, I've decided that I'm going to spend some time here in my SRV just exploring and relaxing for the rest of the night. I'll begin making my way closer to my final destination tomorrow. For now, I'm just going to relax and enjoy the view.
I took many more pictures with the camera drones, but I think this one is my favorite.
