Third time's the charm! FIghting for the Mother Lode

I returned to Bhotho last night. First I tried FREY which supposedly had a Pristine Metallic ring, but it was a bust. Mostly rocky, but some Osmium to be found.I cannot count the number of times I was jumped or interdicted. Usually easily defeatable ships, luckily. I had taken a Mission from Nusslein-Volhard (Wolf 865) to source Platinum, and another such at FREY (GARRAT Station) so I was desperate for Platinum. Went back to Bhotho and jumped in at the fringe of the RES Extraction Zone. A pair of Vipers took me by surprise and I had to boost out after sustaining some damage. After refit (and several attempted Interdictions by an Anaconda), I went BACK to the RES zone, but this time I aimed for a spot away from the RES site but still in the same ring. Was about 0.5 LS from the actual RES site and there was not another ship anywhere except one ASP that was also mining. I hit the mother-lode there!! Platinum, Painite, Palladium, Gold and filled my hold.
Collected the cash for the 2 missions (about 156,000 credits each for 2 and 3 tons of Platinum respectively). Back at Nusslein-Vollhard, there were 3 more Platinum missions and one Osmium mission available that I immediately fulfilled with what was in my hold!
Have to cash out the rest of the Osmium and Painite I have left and maybe return to Bounty Hunting for awhile.
Overall a good haul from mining. For sure bypassing the Commodities Market is far more lucrative for Platinum, Osmium and Painite.
