Haven't posted an update for quite awhile. Grinding away at the two Community Goals, ferrying metals to Worlidge in my pitifully small 32 ton Cargo toting Cobra. Doing a little mining as well to supplement the metal supply, especially when I can get a juicy payout for Platinum and Painite outside the commodities market.Seriously, I always seem to set out mining late at night and it ALWAYS takes longer than I think. Especially true when I need ONE MORE TON of Platinum for a Contract and I am getting everything but. Funny to groan over a pure Silver asteroid!!!
The 109,000 light second cruise to Worlidge is the worst part of the grind. Collect/mine metals..... long cruise to Worlidge for dropoff, then sometimes zoom around the galaxy looking for a Contract to sell excess Osmium/Platinum/Painite and doing that painful cruise back to Worldige to empty the cargo hold, swap the Cobra for a Vulture and head to the RES for some Bounty Hunting for the OTHER Community Goal. Luckily there is a shortcut to the RES in LHS 3447 by just jumping out of the system and jumping back since the RES is MUCH closer to the star than it is to Worlidge!
So far staying in the top 10% for the BH goal, and comfortable at 70% in the LHS 3447 Station Rebuild. Never going to grind out more than that with my small cargo hold. Sitting at just over 50 million credits now, so after the CG payouts I think I am going to buy an ASP Explorer. Can't decide if I should kit it out for mining or trading/exploration. Be nice to have a bigger refinery and larger cargo hold than the Cobra.
Bounty Hunting has been lucrative, but I got into a couple of scrapes with an Anaconda and Federal Dropship that had me bailing out for repairs and cutting into the Profits
The LHS 3447 RES has been really target rich, but a lot of the time the Feds in their little Vipers and Eagles get massacred by the wings of big ships, and without their help I am not really willing to go it alone. Some of my usual wingmates have acquired bounties in LHS 3447 so we can't do the Vulture Wolfpack (is that a mixed metaphor???
) that has almost no limitations on what Pirates we come against.A few more days for the CG's, and then maybe a little rest if another juicy CG close by doesn't pop up.
