10,433 light years to go and the number of terraformable planets is quite scarce thru the Norma Expanse. At this point, I'm really pleased with my decision to remove the extra Fuel tank that had added an extra 64 tonnes of weight to my ship. The Valkyrie has been averaging about 65 light years per jump but even with the occasional Neutron star to give me a boost, I've still got 137 jumps to go. I'm just about to cross back into the Inner Orian Arm and the trip is somewhat monotonous. But the task has become easier just through repetition. I've become adept at the quick jump, scan and a quick check of the results for new terraformable planets or interesting sights. If nothing piques my interest? Moving on.
It doesn't take much concentration, so I've been able to listening to my audio book during the journey. I guess any long road trip requires some sort of extra stimulation otherwise I might end up falling asleep at the stick and accidentally wind up crashing into a star. The trip does have some interesting points, tho. Plio Aip LG-X d1-49 yeilded two, terraformable planets. No more earth like planets have been discovered, but this system did contain high-metal content and a water planet.
