Keeping Busy

I haven't been updating my log much because I felt there wasn't much to write about. The faction maintaining status quo and the Thargoid war maintaining steady progress, slowly grinding the titans to dust. Perhaps exciting, but nothing really new. Some new SCO optimised ships, which I obtained. Certainly nice and fresh, but not worthy an entry by themselves. I purchased Python Mk.2 with my spare ARX because it was the first new ship in a long while, and made a build that is really good at exploding other ships really fast. Also should hypothetically be good against rival CMDRs. I don't really do that stuff, but maintain the capacity just in case. Also spent my accumulated ARX on Type-8 because it was a high time for a hauler to be better at outpost cargo missions than the multipurpose Python. Built as a long range hauler for my semi-rare trade and recently it has shown its value for rare trading for too.In recent weeks the situation has completely inverted. The new dawn of humanity, as they call it has made the things so busy that I would have things to enter my log, but can hardly find time to jot them down. The galactic powers have mobilised in a new way that has caused new problems and also opportunities for Aseveljet. We have long been happy to stay where we are, but all this new activity makes our economies overheat so much that we can't avoid expansions. Therefore we try to do controlled expansions at the edges of our territory to at least take us somewhere interesting. We are currently expanding from Ainunnicori. The benefical change is that the movers and shakers in galactic stage don't care about government types, so we no longer need to favor Antal and avoid LYR in our expansions.
There's also participating to this level of politics. As our region has been split between Sirius and Utopian territory, most active members of our squadron are likewise split between these 2 players. Our policy is to have our systems under either of these 2, so some of our members can score a few merits as they work for faction. Looks like a few of them will fall to 3rd party, though. Jerome Archer, probably. There might also be fierce battles with Archon Delaine over former Ewah bubble in the future. We hope to smooth things over enough between LYR and Antal that the former NLTT 6655 bubble won't be a big issue, at least over our systems.
So I've been busy in the Bubble and meanwhile my former protégé, CMDR Kissanpentu, has made some progress in my original passion: exploration. She got the new exploration ship Mandalay with her spare ARX and let me have a look at her build and it's amazing. Great jump range, with is even better now that they updated the route plotter so that secondary neutron star cone boost is more convenient to use. It can supercruise with continuous overcharge without coming close to overheating for over 1.5 million light seconds. That's enough to reach most bodies, except anomalies like Hutton Orbital. Very good view from the cockpit, can turn on the dime and also land on one. It has everything I want from exploration ship, but I'll be too busy for at least a month or two to consider a proper exploration trip. If I can't go for a real exploration trip, I can't justify the ARX expenditure. Have to wrap up the final titan and manage the political situation back home.
It's an odd reversal of roles. She was supposed to stay to take care of the things in the Bubble while I go to the Black, but now she did a shakedown cruise to our beloved Cat's Paw Nebula and has upgraded her Artemis suit for another trip. The rumor is that there is some new framework coming to allow us commanders to expand Humanity's reach. Perhaps I'm ready to go exploring by then.
