Well, I got close to getting somewhere... With that device, I mean. But unfortunately... we had to hand it over to a SF team today. Something about a security mandate. It seems like we don't want to compromise any further intel working on this device publicly... Which is fair enough.
I didn't tell them that I was able to power up the device, though. Managed to figure out someone's name... a contact, by analysing some of the intercepted comms logs. Might be the one contacting Commanders in the squadron, but I dunno. They call themselves "Ember", whatever that means. I wasn't able to retrieve anything tangible from the logs before it shut off again. At least, I think I've figured out how to power it up, but I wasn't able to test it again before we handed it over to that team.
It's weird. Was Douglas Gray just one of those... 'artefact fanatics'? Kind of creepy that this is all happening onboard our carrier, but hopefully we can get this under wraps soon and finally relax. I've been thinking of spending my free-time practising a bit of time in the flight-sim. You never know... could be handy to know how to fly, and new skills are always great. Might help me take my mind off what happened too. I really could use a breather around here.
