Alright... I uh... got my new Commander license... yay, I guess. I know this is what I wanted but... I'm still overwhelmed by the news. Scared, even. So many people rely on the squadron to be led correctly. What if I can't? What if I mess up?
I want to give it a shot... but I dunno... I can't not make a decision either. I'm the only one who can decide, apparently, and I have to make the decision soon. This is stressful... First, we're dealing with terrorists bombing the carrier and killing people... and now our dead Squadron Commander is promoting a combat specialist to their position and giving them billions of credits worth of assets.
That alone is tantalizing, but it's obviously not about the money... or the ships. It's about whether or not I'm ready, I guess... I want to say I am, but... maybe they're right. Maybe I am young and naïve. Maybe I'm really not ready for this responsibility. But part of me wants to give it a shot. To prove them wrong, and at least make something of myself.
I guess you could say I'm about to take one hell of a leap of faith...
