Commander, hope you're feeling recuperated from your expedition into the black. Things have taken a turn back in the bubble, won't bore you with the details, but Squadron Command, that is I, have put the call out to all Pilots, see you when you get here. Bring ammo... Commander Nex out.
End Message. Would you like to play again?
"Shit..."
I'm sorry that command is not in my list of voice approved actions. Would you like to play again?
Ten thousand light years out and a call to arms comes through. All my life I've never left the sector and just when its staring me in the face, ready to welcome me into a new spiral arm of our galaxy, my squadron takes a contract. A game changing contract.
We'd been out in Witchhead, running patrols for what seemed like an age, heavy combat in fast strike corvette class carriers. I'd earned my stripes during that tour, and got to roll the XG class fighters. Quick as all hell, sure, felt the gravity near the Gas Giants at the speed they could put out. Too many close calls with Interceptors which were outclassing us. Our Squadron's AX council assured me that we would be updated with better intel for a renewed push. Command sent me out on Cartographics after that. I was happy to accept.
I check our encrypted server over relayed tighbeam stuttered communications, shit has hit the fan in Wolf 1301. Literally.
We've been pulled into a war between some powerful factions, this in more than casual flex and flaunt flashpoints, this is "forget the ROE" total war.
At least we seem to be on the winning side so far...
...but its a long way back to the bubble.
I wonder whos going to pay my damages?
