CMDR Log - #025
Star Date - July 29th 3308
System: *redacted*
Planet: *redacted*
Location: *redacted*
So it's been a couple weeks now.
Things have been busy in the system. We started right off with a lot of changes around here lately.
And I've been able to get more affiliated with the squadron and our constituents.
I suppose I expected something more . . . Formal? Official? Militant?
I dunno . . . but, I arrived at the fleet carrier earlier this month and checked in with them.
They were expecting me.
I docked with the ship and headed into the elevator, and I was met by a bright-eyed, squirrely young man on the ship concourse as soon as the doors opened.
"Oh, Commander Rhaazerus? Welcome aboard! We are delighted to have you with us sir."
He seemed a bit too cheery, but he was certainly attentive.
I think he noticed the look of confusion on my face and quickly answered my unspoken questions;
"Commander Deluvian asked me to meet with you and get you acquainted. Please follow me."
Well, I got the tour of the fleet carrier, and got to meet a lot of the crew. The place was pretty active at the time.
They had just jumped into the system a few days before and were getting everything ready per Commander Deluvian's orders.
Ya know . . . I still haven't even met the man himself . . . he's a bit of an enigma, but he had that whole crew scurrying about at his command.
Things have calmed down a bit since then.
I like to think our recent operations here made some changes for the better. Well . . . better for our constituents, but I'm sure their opponents aren't too happy about it.
But life goes on, things change, and they'll get used to it.
And Galnet these days, it's nothing but Thargoid news and Salvation and his super weapon.
I dunno how this is gonna turn out;
but as long as we aren't vaporized by that hellbent Thargoid obsessed mad scientist, or subjected to our alien overlords, I'd call it a victory.
Something about using Guardian tech though, just doesn't sit right with me. I've seen those Sentinel things and read about Guardian AI.
I just dunno if humans should be messing around with that kind of bad juju.
But, I'm sure we'll have our own problems to deal with in this system, once Deluvian decides our next move.
In the meantime, I'm getting ready for a trip planetside for a few weeks.
I gotta get away from all the noise and busy work for a while.
There's a nice earth-like world here that I hear is a good place for camping.
It's been ages since I've gone camping.
It'll be nice to feel real grass under my feet. Can't say I'll enjoy the bugs though.
