Formadine Rift Log

02 May 2016Captian.S.Toner
To get to the rift you must pass the system most famous for the dispensing and dealing of knowledge. Proceed to head through the "cave" after traversing the "cave" turn your ship towards the very heart and soul of the Galaxy. Take a 1/64th lip ride find a bridge between arms After this point extreme caution is needed,  as the distance between stars increases drastically and the rate of scoopabals O B A F G K M (Oh Be A Fine Girl Kiss Me) is also drastically decreased.

One commander's log is as follows

24 MAR 3302 Captain s.Toner

I have found navigating to the aforementioned "cave" quite easy indeed it was a planet in this area i decided would be worthy a place to stop enjoy tea and a biscuit and rest the crew for the night. Complex navigation takes a tole on a crew. Shortly before departure, I noticed a small poi (point of interest) whereby I discovered some ship wreckage 2 downed srv's cockpits smashed in commanders turned to dust and blown away to join the Baron soil of this arid wasteland, original ships inbuilt defenses had stood on stand by for so long, that they simply fell to the ground after exhausting what is rumored to be a very extensive battery supply. After closer inspection, I discovered a small glow emitting from the husk of the ship which i prudently scanned.  Not long after this a feeling of dread enveloped me and the crew and we thought it best to put this speck of rock far, far behind us, "where are we headed Capitan?" my navigation officer asked, to which I replied "I think we shall fly below NGC 7822, and from their crew we will be heading straight to the heart and soul

25/26th MAR 3302 Captain. s. Toner

The last few days have been quiet except for one encounter with a black hole. We had a very close encounter with a black hole within 20kms in-fact,  "we were ejected straight from hyperspace right into the thick of it".  Luckily I was able to use the light distortion in space to put that blasted thing behind us and boost out of there, Lost, yet another heat sink to their numbers now can be counted on one hand.  This means No More Hap Hazard flying full attention must be paid at all times as I do not want to get stuck out here.

27th MAR 3302 Captain. s. Toner

Space has been routine once again since my last brush with a black hole however today at approximately 14.00 upon boosting into the Phoi Aim LK-R b5- 0 system we were taped between two stars with a third swooning near by.  Escape vectors were minimal, however I managed to reef the ship around right before we hit critical temperature at 140% the consoles were sparking the cockpit sounded like it were being ripped asunder, "magic smoke got out Capitan" one of the deck officers scoffed trying to make light of the situation at hand. A systems check I requested from the systems command officer. "It's not critical Capitan but it's not good either, not one of our on-board systems survived unscathed, the worst affected is the forward defenses and life support both 88 and 84 percent respectively. What do you suggest we do?" It was then I decided that our best course of action was to risk a planetary landing to survey any damage to the exterior of the ship and to do a full shut down debug and auto field maintenance rundown of the old bird. "Set her down on that lump of space whale shit right there and we will do a full system overhaul" . The system overhaul has been successful and we can recommence travel as planned.

6th APRIL 3302  Captain. s. Toner

Something highly unusual we are some 20.000Ly + from Sol in uncharted territory bordering the FSD locked Brovomit Sector.  We had chosen a low gravitational body to practice our landing drills and survey deployment. Upon atmospheric entry our scanners, light up with a distress beacon emitting from -26/345 +56.765 I ordered us down on said location. This drill very quickly became a serious matter, landed right on top of the wreckage of what appears to be an identical anaconda class ship. We were able to retrieve 2 occupied escape pods and curiously One Canister of narcotics, which i have confiscated to the safe in my private quarters for safe keeping. So many questions now, What exactly were these guys doing out this far and why carry narcotics iv heard rumor of long range explorers using narcotics as an anti sleep aid to keep them going for weeks at a time without sleep I wonder if this was the case. The crew is undecided on if we should awaken the survivors now in our med bay or keep them in the cargo hold till we are able to have proper medical staff preform the revival procedure. After the crew has had time to digest what has just happened i shall put it to a vote and let the crew decide if we should wake them up and offer them a position within our ranks or simply wait and keep these people frozen in the cargo hold ....

12th of APRIL 3302  Captain. s. Toner

The decision was made to keep the unknown persons frozen for the time being as the crew have reached a consensus, based on the fact that we have dwindled resources and could not spare the food or oxygen this was my general thoughts on the matter also as well as I would like the persons unknown to be medically examined and questioned on exactly what it is they were doing that far out and how their journey ended in tragedy for 99% of their crew these two being the only survivors.
I am extremely eager to return home to varati with sothis as a Backup location in-case I incur any more damage on the way

Latest damage/status report indicates
Hull 81%
AF-MU out of materials
Heat sink zero remaining
Power Plant 78%
FSD 87%
Power distributer 89%

Whilst these are not critical levels (yet) the attrition of being in space will further degenerate these components of the ship and with no more amfu ammo and not the stomach to try another planetary landing to scout for materials with the hull already so badly damaged i have decided its best to call this rift trip now and return to debrief those picked up in the escape pods rest recoup pick up a few engineers to improve the ship then we shall see about coming back out to finish what we started!

18th of APRIL Captian. S. toner
We have only 5 000 Ly to go till we are home with our loved ones again. Space has been rather routine of late, but we have again started to pick up the gal net news on our info panels, some of the crew is now at odds with one another over the starship one debacle as this is a multicultural crew there are people aboard with strong opinions on both sides of the coin.  I have had to step in today and threaten the crew that the next person to raise their voice or even discuss the matter will be blasted out of the airlock and into the cold depths of space we must remain consolidated as a crew if we want to make it home the last 5 000 Ly back to the bubble is arguably the most dangerous of the whole trip as we have heard rumors of "explorer killers" looking to jack exploration data, and any rare finds from the unknown regions of space.  For the first time in over a month iv ordered shield boosters up and prepped the weapons aboard just in case anyone gets wind of us.
