Not Caustic Log Entry

Commander's Log, 21 Mar 3302:Does anyone actually ever check these things?
I mean, sure, we have logs, and the Pilot's Federation can pull them up remotely thanks to whatever ghostly technology they think is helpful if there's a dispute or an accident, or whatever, but I'm genuinely curious about general monitoring...
I don't want some overworked data analyst on Founder's World to think I'm caustic or anything.
Imagine that, Deborah... or whatever your name is, whose glorious task it is to keep track of these things... I want you to think well of me!
So I'm still here in Nespeleve... I don't know any of the locals, and I don't feel like wandering into the quarantine zone at Wilkes for an adult beverage laced with Cerberus plague, so I'm sleeping in orbit around the station, and fully ebriated, to my eternal dismay. Courier missions have been netting me a nice profit lately; $1.5 million credits to run some polymers over to the next system and back? I can do that all day.
Maybe the plague is getting to people. Still, I wonder who in the area has upped the ante so much: "Oh god, I just can't live without my weekly 7T of polymers!" I'm just saying, I'd probably have been willing to do the gig for half the price. But hey- not complaining here... or caustic. At all.
Also, my Xihe runs got all unpackaged on me when a fed agent in a Vulture dropped in on me and tried to yank me down to do battle. He probably thought I was set up for pure trading. Unlucky fed. He dropped out onto a fully kitted war Python, albeit with less armor packages and a few more cargo racks, but regardless, a freaking war Python, with all of her teeth bared and drooling with misappropriated glee. Now, after he attacked me, emphasis on the he, I somehow have a 50k bounty on my head in the system for explaining to him the error of his ways... by giving him a tour of his own escape pod.
I wonder if they realize I scooped his pod up with my cargo hatch before I skipped the system... I should probably let him out to pee, but the "biomorphic companions" I managed to pick up are still loose in the quarters somewhere, and I don't think they like other people very much.
Makes a hell of an anti-boarding weapon, and I'm sure as hell not complaining about the not-at-all-sticky-or-discolored area of my stateroom floor that Captain 12-gauge conquered during his brief stint as a pirate king, but these customized bio-whatevers are going to play hell the next time I try to bring Sharana and Trynn up for a... fully not-in-any-way caustic encounter.
Well... maybe just a little caustic. Sue me, I'm human.
