I made good distance today. Wreckage and crashed satellites are almost non-existent out here now, so that means if I do find something, it will definitely be worth investigating. As for now, the lack of returns is allowing me to make good time on the way to the next waypoint. I did try to have the synthesiser make me a guitar, and I noticed my element's locker is not very well stocked. I spent a fair amount of time bombing about in m'buggy collecting the essential elements for repairs and fuel mixtures.
Tonights' bedding down planet is a high metal content world. Its distant dwarf star is sparing with its deep red light, making the rocky surface appear quite sinister. Good thing I'm too popped to care.
Goodnight Log.

The light doesn't seem oppressive now I've moved the ship out of the dim band and into the light to do a bit of running, and it's the weekend! Looking up, I've decided to call this sort of vista a Sangria Sky, and I'm hoping to turn it into a weekend habit while I'm out here. Thanks to the constant accelerating, landings and take-offs, and in no small part to selecting higher gravity planets to be on for bedtime, Ninette says I'm suffering minimal zero-G side effects this week. That means I'm allowed some treats this weekend instead of just the healthy options the galley is loaded up with.
Galley supplies also contain a little wine, brandy and fruit, so I'll be treating my self to an evening in the cockpit with my feet up on the dash, sipping a cold Sangria while I enjoy a roast duck dinner, providing I can find another crimson sky with at least Earth-normal gravity tonight. That'll add some pep to m'step for today's exploration, what? I'll let you know if it happened tonight, along with my daily log.

No luck finding a Sangria Sky, so no cocktails in the lounge for me tonight. Never mind, it will still be the weekend tomorrow, so I have one more chance. For now, this half-a-G Icy Rock will have to do for bedding down tonight. Not much more to add today other than my continued lamenting for my lost, rather, stolen Dolphin. The Asp really will not do for planetary operations. Well, pleasant thoughts ay? One really shouldn't go to bed with disagreeable memories.
Good night log.

Lots catalogued, and many surfaces visited today, but still no joy finding a trail. I have been listening to my uncle's logs, and as luck would have it, he has carried over an old habit of explorers that didn't have the tools available we use today. Grandfather used to set up a base camp on an accommodating planet, and use that as a central point to explore from. As he showed my uncle the ropes, making a central camp is a habit Creamy Two adopted and never broke. At the next way point, I'll have to study systems close by with bodies my uncle may have deemed hospitable to housing a central camp.
As for cocktail night.. Success! Took a bit of jumping about, but I finally found a Sangria Sky accompanied by a little over Earth normal gravity. I made my Ruby Sangria, and left that to cool while I finished exploring for the day. I'll give you my recipe if you have a mind to care for such things.
A Ruby Rise is a favourite of mine, it requires a fruity, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon mixed with Brady and Cranberry Juice. I like it served in a tall glass with crushed ice. To turn that into a cheeky Sangria, one simply needs to add a little honey or caster sugar to sweeten. Once that is fully mixed, drop in sliced orange, honeydew melon, strawberries, white grapes and apple. The jug should look busy with fruit, but not packed with the stuff; after all, the drink is the star. Leave the lot to cool for a few hours, and before serving, add a splash of seltzer to give each glass a little sparkle. Bottoms up!

I say, so much seen today and so very far travelled. I've crossed into Hawkings Gap I think its called, and that reminded me I have never been so far away from.. well, everything. I've refined my jump.. No no, let me be honest; Ninette refined my jump routs based on what my uncle had said in his logs to increase my chances of finding one of his camps. Still nothing today, but I did find a few water and ammonia worlds to stamp my name on, and one pair of water worlds were orbiting each other, which found quite sweet.
My most interesting find of the day was a beautiful little desert dweller that grows its own shade. I can't decide if it's symbiotic, or one plant, and I'm not about to go digging one up to satisfy my curiosity. The broad fleshy shading growth has them most enchanting iridescence on the inside facing the plant and I wish this image did it justice. It's still a nice memory to have of today's journey as I bed down with the aid of a couple of Gs.
