In search of novelty - beginning

Kessel Station, HIP 82964I've kitted out an Asp Explorer, the TFS Dobsonian1, as a long-range exploration ship. My goal is to discover something new by my 40th birthday in July 2021. My plan is to skim the galactic core: I reasoned that high star density means there's more likely to be something undiscovered. I've used www.spansh.co.uk to construct an initial route to Sgr A*, but that's just an initial guide; I will rework it if I get an idea on the way (maybe stop in Colonia, since I've never been there).
I've outfitted the Dobs for long-range FSD jumps, except that I've left in an SRV hangar in case I see something I want to explore on wheels. I stuck a crazy huge fuel scoop on it so I don't have to spend a lot of time waiting for fuel.
I've also stocked up on materials for 12 premium FSD boosts. spansh claims I need something like 50 each way, but I'm impatient to get going, so I might just ignore that.
1 Since it's for exploring the galaxy, I named it after a telescope
