Exploration record - 5,000 Light years run

:||: LOGBOOK MODE INITIATED. RECORD STARTS HERE :||:This is a record this one's longest journey so far scheduled and completed earlier this year 3306. Through the journey to meet and make contracts with the famous engineers across the bubble Professor Palin and Chloe Sedesi gave this greenhorn a rather tough requirement to fulfill: fly at least 5000 light years away from where things have all started. California Nebula and Barnard's Loop were not something located close to the bubble and it indeed took a decent amount of time to say hello to both of these notable locations, but attaining 5000 light years - is a whole another story.
So like every commander would have done to fulfill this task, this one twirled 3D galaxy map on the display, pinching here and there for zooming in and out to determine the best round trip route sipping his brandy. This is gonna be his first long-haul trip in its true meaning, so it has to be best thought out. He remembered those intriguing names of places he heard at the galactic bars. The outcome was like this:
- Outward: GM Cephei system in the midst of Elephant's Trunk Nebula (approx. 2500 light years from the bubble)
- Halfway: Crescent Nebula (approx. 2700 light years from Elephant's Trunk Nebula)
- Homeward: SADR region (3100 light years from Crescent) then the bubble (2100 light years from SADR)
-------------------------------------------------
System: GM CEPHEI
Planet: not applicable
Place: ELEPHANT'S TRUNK NEBULA
-------------------------------------------------
The first spectacle of 5000 Ly run. This picture may give you an impression that Elephant's Trunk Nebula actually looks like Poodle's Trunk.
-------------------------------------------------
System: CRESCENT SECTOR GW-W C1-8
Planet: not applicable
Place: CRESCENT NEBULA
-------------------------------------------------
This dignity of Crescent Nebula - it was awesome and could remind you of California Nebula, by its beautifully spreading skirts just like Christmas flower petals.
Diving into those petals will lead you to this asteroid station, Medusa's Rock.
-------------------------------------------------
System: SADR REGION SECTOR GW-W C1-22
Planet: not applicable
Place: SADR REGION
-------------------------------------------------
The last point-of-interest on the way back to the bubble. From a distance honestly, SADR was not very successful in giving this one a big impression. It looked similar to Elephants' Trunk, and the shape looked rather ordinary.
However inside the nebula, the surrounding view was something unexpected and impressive. This was a small piece of cloud, which looked like a gazing eye.
The run completed without any serious malfunction of the ship nor accidents and invitations from Prof. Pailin and Chloe arrived shortly after this one's ASPE docked at Jameson and arrival process was over. Now, having set up communication with all 21 notable engineers in and around the bubble, the only engineers with no relation so far are those 4 people working in Colonia region. ASPE's spec is probably not enough to make Colonia round trip a convenient one. Something, that enables over 50 light years per jump - would be needed. Such ship, or method, or both of them.
CMDR Godthab out.
