Both the expedition main team and solo-flying crew had bid farewell to DSSA Nova Blues several days ago and majority were already near or in the midst of waypoint 11, Teal Nebula sites. Done a lot of researches and surveys over the past few days. Run into a close-call situation one but managed to return aboard the carrier alive. Let's try to summarize what this one had been into.
Wolf-Rayet star hunts
One of the target this one wanted to achieve during the Galactic Core expedition was to find an undiscovered Wolf-Rayet star. It is a rare type of star and even one single undiscovered WR was found during the Outer Arm expedition. The bridge always reminded the crew that we would have a biggest chance in the very core region of the Galaxy because of its star density, but this one already started supercharge-jumping around. The result turned out to be unsuccessful; all the Wolf-Rayet visited this time were known ones. This one must admit it that he did the research taking one of the simplest method to find WR; to look into the sector's AA-A H systems. He will try the research again when the team finally arrives in the Galactic Core later in April.
Still, it was nice to come across a Herbig AE/BE star during the research.

Close call in lagrange storm
Prasinum Metallic Crystals
Thunders in rubicundum lagrange storm
P03-type Anomaly
-------------------------------------------------
System: SHROGEAU GG-Y E119
Planet: N/A
Place: Notable Stellar Phenomena
-------------------------------------------------
Had a chance to confirm a P03 type anomaly in the midst of rubicundum lagrange clouds for the first time in this one's commander life. He tried to approach the anomaly, but since it started emitting effects which was likely to harm the fleet hull, he had no choice but to keep a distance from it.
In an another notable stellar phenomena signal existing in the same system, this one went into the lagrange storm. Powerful lightning strikes were happening everywhere around the fleet. This one did remember other expedition crew's warning, "the thunders could harm you," but he was thinking things were all good as the shield had been alive and valid.
Actually, the fleet hull was already down to 38% when this one finally realized the thunder damage was able to penetrate the shield. He hurried out of the storm to leave enough space from the thunders. He would have increased the count of "commanders dead" if he had taken more time to realize his situation.
A rare find by cmdr Tan0
Star side of the gas giant
Backlit side
-------------------------------------------------
System: ONGAIHN II-B d13-1412
Planet: 5
Place: Odd Eye / Any Colour You Like
-------------------------------------------------
Commander Ahsoka Tan0, one of this one's fleelancer business mates, had discovered an interesting gas giant during her research in ONGAIHN sector so this one (along with many other expedition crew) also paid a a visit to confirm the giant up-close.
This one, and most likely everyone else also, have never seen such a unique gas giant like that before. When approaching from the system star side, the gas giant looked ruby red - which was not a common color for a gas giant, but not extremely rare either.
But lo and behold, as you head to the reverse side of the giant away from the star side, the giant quickly turns its colour from ruby red to emerald green! Never expected this would happen.
Guardian site in the core region
-------------------------------------------------
System: EORL AUWSY SY-Z D13-3468
Planet: ABC1H
Place: ANCIENT RUINS
-------------------------------------------------
Teal nebula site was also known as the presence of several ancient ruins of guardians. This one paid a visit at one of those ruins while waiting for the arrival of Blodeuwedds Branch and TFS Quantum Harmonic to the nebula. This one did remember that he had received a research work request from one of the well-known engineers, Ram Tah, which should be related to these ruins in Teal nebula. The last time he had the request from Ram was months ago, so he already forgot the details. Might have been a fat work, but every memory had been swept away into oblivion already.
Void hearts and octahedral pods survey
Void hearts
This one had a feeling that this survey may be remembered as one of the expedition highlights by himself. This one had never had a chance to see actual void hearts and octahedral pods up-close in the past. Unlike the anomalies or lagrange thunderstorms, these hearts and pods were unharmful.
Octahedral pods were given birth by void hearts. There were a bright core inside the pods, but due to the branch-knots tightly surrounding the core, it looked impossible to collect a sample of the core.
Both void hearts and octahedral pods were emitting spores which seemed to be slightly caustic, so this one kept an eye on the damage ratio of the fleet hull. Fortunately his fleet had no damage even approaching close to hearts and pods.
Referring to the codex data he confirmed five different types of octahedral pods in five different systems as follows.
Appearance | Name (color) | Inhabiting system |
---|---|---|
Niveum Octahedral Pod (Orange) |
SHROGAAE KK-A d983 | |
Caeruleum Octahedral Pod (Blue) |
SHROGAAE KK-A d1791 | |
Viride Octahedral Pod (Viridian) |
SHROGAAE KK-A d90 | |
Blattem Octahedral Pod (Purple) |
EORL AUWSY UT-Z d13-338 | |
Rubeum Octahedral Pod (Ruby red) |
SHROGAAE KK-A d2672 |
The frequency of research may be increased as the team is now getting really close to the core.
CMDR Godthab out.
