Space is Big

01 Feb 2017Jermus Karlsen
Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.
Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
English humorist & science fiction novelist (1952 - 2001)

I has been said before, but today I realized the truth of those words. Colonia is far, far away...

Yesterday I got lost in scanning stars. With my current equipment I am not able to a proper job on that, so I made some calculations and decided that scanning stars is something that has to be done by proper explorers.

Just after I made that decision I got an invitation from Elvira Martuuk, an engineer who likes to support explorers

The trip requires planning! More planning than I have done so far. I opted for Colonia so that I could make a decent amount of money (hopefully without the hassle of explaining my past on each transaction). If I keep traveling at this rate I will not even have a past anymore when I arrive at Colonia

So, change of plan: I will take my chances with LHS 3447 and surrounding systems to make enough money to buy me:
  • an A rated fuel scoop
  • an A rated FSD
  • some additional fuel tanks
With this and a quick self-destruct (long live the escape pod and the insurance companies!) I'm back in the bubble, doing trade and delivery missions to get the funds for the above mentioned. I hope to acquire those items quick and without problems.
Do you like it?
