A lot of explaining to do

I was off doing work in the Empire. Nothing important really, mining and some data runs. Before I know it the Imperial Navy Auxiliary has promoted me to Duke. Well now I am authorized to buy an Imperial Cutter. The big bad cutter. The most expensive ship most of us ever get a chance to buy. I have just topped 3.3 billion credits and that's enough to keep me from going under the 3 billion mark when I purchase some modules in a couple of weeks.
But I have some serious issues with collecting ships. So now the balance is down, waaaay down, back to 2.6 billion. I ended up putting mostly A rated equipment in her, she became expensive on a grand scale.
After her engineering and outfitting, I quietly slipped her into her new hangar at Ray Gateway. I grabbed Apollo my mining python and snuck off to make up the money before Jean noticed anything.
I have been mining for just over one day and am almost back at the 3 billion mark. When a message comes over the computer. A simple message from Jean. Gently reminding me that my fleet manager Tess, is one of her closest friends. So Jean has already been down in the hangar and given herself a tour of "Barely Regal" the new cutter.
My stomach knots up. I keep reading and sure enough, there was the line I dreaded "and how much did you spend on your new toy?"
I have just docked and offloaded my next batch of low temp diamonds and void opals. I message her back letting her know that I spent just over 750,000,000 credits on the new ship. But that I have already brought my bank of Zaonce account back up over 3 billion.
It's probably not really helped my case, but I really have no case this time. I am caught red handed. I don't know why I thought I could hide an Imperial Cutter anyway. It wasn't like I wasn't going to tell her.
I know the reality is that in the end I don't answer to her for my financial decisions, we have our own finances and keep them separate. But she is the woman that I dearly love so I will take the lecture I am sure to get when I get home.
