The Carrier makes it look so easy

Were at Rylie's Grace, 10,000ly from Diaguandri. That's a good solid day, maybe two if exploration is done in my Krait Phantom. But we set off on Sunday around 0900 galactic time and the evening we were in orbit around Diaguandri AB1 just a few mega meters from Ray Gateway, our home port. "Sir we have exited hyperspace and are established in orbit" Captain Bailey announces over the comms in my quarters. "Thank you captain, you may commence with the post trip procedures we discussed" I answer back. It's mid evening on Sunday 26 July 3306. We have just arrived from far out in the western end of the galaxy. I took the time to finish working towards my elite ranking in exploration. I needed to get down some of the cosmic clue awareness that I will need when I undertake my next mission.
It has been a couple of weeks since we departed Diaguandri for this trip and it is nice to be back. I am giving the crew a good extended leave period and the ship will be lightly staffed for a couple of weeks while we resupply and prepare for our next refueling run.
"You ready babe?" I call out to Jean to inquire if she's ready to head back to Ray Gateway for a few days. "In a sec, I'm getting Bella's stuff ready" she calls out from our bedroom. "I'll have someone here in a minute to get the rest of your stuff, I'll meet you in the hangar" I say as I grab my pack and head out the door.
Randy greets me as I enter the hangar, my sleek orange FDL sitting there all ready to go. "She's a beaut isn't she" Randy says as I approach him. "She certainly is" I reply. "How was the post trip report on the Dawn?" I inquire. "She held up beautifully, expected wear to the paint and the structure, but nothing near normal wear and tear for most other ships, she can take you anywhere you want to go" he tells me. "You boys talking shop again" Jean says as she walks up to us "Uhh... Always" Randy replies.
Jean and Bella and I climb aboard the "La Muerta" and get started on pre flight checks. Randy clears the hangar and we make our way to the carrier flight deck for launch.
Yumi clears us for departure. None of the banter we have had on the exploration trip, but she's got a lot of traffic and her and the other controllers are busy with the other ships flying around, landing and taking off from the carrier. I quickly accelerate the nimble fighter away from the Archangel and break mass lock within a few seconds. We enter super cruise for a very short 7 mega-meter run.
We arrive at Ray Gateway and are quickly cleared for landing. I make my way to the pad and set down with immediate hangar clearance granted.. We depart the ship and head to our place at Aria on the surface of the station. Will be nice to be in full 1g again for a while. The carrier has a lot of mass and therefore it's own gravity, but it's not anywhere near 1g.
I call my buddy Ronin and we hash out a time for dinner with him and his wife Della. We will meet them at the sushi place in 30 minutes, that will give us enough time to get back into regular clothes and get the cat settled back into our apartment.
Will be nice being on the station for bit. The carrier is proving to be a great investment. But soon we will start to work up the military drills and skills needed to be a warship, and as a victory class carrier, she's built to fight.
