Exceeds Expectations

"Yeah were at over 78", Randy Says, "Are you sure, check it again" I reply. I have been running around the Colonia region all day meeting with engineers and designers and having work done to the new rescue ship. The project conceived by Jean and I on the trip out to Colonia is now a reality. With the specs all drawn up, she was supposed to be able to average a 77 light year jump with full fuel tanks. But here we sit, with over 78LY jump range and we aren't even finished lightening up some of the component's.
I head out of the hangar and over to Jean's shop on the ship to let her know her designs have exceeded even her expectations. "Really? and you haven't completed the engineering on her yet?" Jean says to me. I reply with a head nod in the affirmative and she just smiles.
The ship formerly known as Rat-Trick which was her project name is now formally named after the goddess of compassion and mercy. She is now known as "Kuanyin" and I could not be more proud of how she is turning out.
But with this obsession of building this ship, I haven't really taken the time to look around this area. Sure, I have seen the systems, but I haven't really taken the time to take it all in. And I need to do that as perhaps at some point I will be living in this system. So far, Colonia Dream is the station that most has my attention. It reminds me a lot of Ray Gateway, but in a much prettier setting.
In a few weeks, we will begin fueling the Archangel for the next leg of our voyage. We will be heading into the center of the galaxy and visiting Explorers Anchorage, right next to Sag A Star. Of course I will take folks on tours of Sag A so that they can see the center of our incredible galaxy.
For now, I think it's time to play tourist and see the rest of this area before we depart.
