Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack

I had been planning unlocking Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack for quite some time. It can be handy when fighting Thargoids and unlocking their bases. However, it is a bit complicated: one needs several hard to obtain components, especially Meta-Alloys and Neofabric Insulation.Obtaining Meta-Alloys is a known process. Find ripe barnacles and collect. However, it would be too easy. I wanted more. After my visit to Crystalline Shard place, my engineering is currently limited by a lack of selenium. So I wanted to kill two birds by one stone and go to the barnacle site where selenium drops as well. This limits the choice of barnacle sites.
The list of barnacle sites is rather long. I conjectured that in order to find selenium in them, it has to be present in the planet composition. However, it is surprisingly rare to find barnacles on a selenium planet. Well, I did identify some after all: Pleiades Sector SE-P b6-0 D 3, only 323ly from Shinrarta Dezhra, Witch Head Sector LC-V c2-10 B 1, which has station in the system, and if everything fails, then California Sector LC-V c2-10 A 7 . So I jumped my Krait Phantom and set forth to Thargoidland again.
First, I traveled to the Witch Head site. Unfortunately, the first barnacles I found on the planet were harvested. I remembered reading somewhere that if one barnacle site is not ripe, then neither of them on the same planet is. I had already visited the Pleiades before and I saw an empty barnacles there too. So I traveled another couple of light years to California Sector. The site was empty again. What a despair.
Well I didn't feel like returning with empty cargo. I went to check other barnacles on the same planet. And really, the second one was ripe after all! And selenium was really dropping. Unfortunately, it was the site with just one meta-alloy, and it was in an uncomfortably hilly terrain. So after second reset, I decided to search for a yet better barnacles.
I started to visit another barnacle sites on the planet. The third one was empty again. But the 4th barnacle site was excellent - 5 Meta-Alloys, flat terrain, plenty of engineering materials. Before I collected the 3rd reset needed for my 16 meta alloys, I had more then 20 seleniums and filled up cargo space for 6 other raw engineering materials. I should have visited material trader before, I guess. In any case, this site marked as Barnacle Site (5) was success.
When my cargo hold had enough Meta-Alloys, it was time to look after 12 neofabric insulations. It is exclusively a mission reward. Where to find the correct mission without endangering my hard earned cargo by endless travel from station to station? I simply shipped python of ceramic composites to the damaged station at HIP 8830. I had farmed Empire reputation there, so all the faction there are allies and I knew for sure I would find the mission there. So for few of ceramic composites I got much more insulators then I needed.
The last part was to travel 100ly to do the shopping for the rest of the materials and to the technology broker. Of course I could net resist to pick high grade emission or two in a civil war system. Luckily, no pirate was a match for my heavily armed and engineered python. Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack is finally unlocked.
