I spent a good part of the day just driving the SRV on the surface of A 1 c. There wasn't a lot to see, really, given how it's a barren rock, but I have a thing for exploring craters. You never know just what you may find. The rest of the day, however, Brandon and I been hard at work.

I managed to supply the necessary components, and he showed me how to juice up the shield cell banks beyond anything I've ever seen before. Man's an actual genius. By using a combination of gold and copper as conductive components, he managed to bypass the central core of each cell bank and prevent overheating, while using experimental firmware and a little bit of yttrium to increase the yield. The result is slightly higher power draw and lower integrity, but dramatically less thermal load and higher shield reinforcement.

The actual bypass itself wasn't difficult, and honestly very obvious once he pointed it out. I'm sure more people in the Bubble are already on to some similar modifications. Using yttrium to increase the yield was absolutely ingenious, though. Nobody but Brandon could have thought of something like that. Yttrium, of all things. I was told he was good, but this is something else.

I'll have to wait til I'm back in the Bubble before I get to apply these upgrades to my other ships, but luckily now that I know how it's done, it should be a piece of cake.

Comrey out.
