An Unexpected Journey

After hours of patrol duty in Theta Octantis, I get a message from the Imperium to report back to Medupe City. Upon my arrival I am greeted by Vee and none other than my friend I met in Colonia, Cmdr Knox. Apparently all 3 of us have been summoned to meet with Gov Allison. Together the 3 of us nervously walk into the conference room and to our amazement, Princess Duval greets us. A dream come true for me! We take our seats and the meeting starts. Gov Allison informs us that he and Princess Duval read my cmdr's log referring to the mysterious Col 70 sector locks. The Empire is always looking to expand deeper into space and these permit zones bring with them mystery and caution. They want to know what is going on down there. Quite frankly, so do I as it is a bitch to navigate towards Barnard's and Horsehead. They want us to investigate the area. Recon and collect data from surrounding systems. Determine if Thargoid activity is present and to what extent, if any. We are welcome to depart at anytime we gather the proper equipment needed. Her Grace assures us that what we are doing is for the good of not just the Empire but all of humanity. "If nefarious deeds are being done there, it threatens us all." See...this is why I adore this woman! How can you not? "Phew, I thought we were gonna be fired!" I was totally relieved. So guys, we need to acquire a 3 crew ship. The Obsidian Black supports 3 crew members plus I have the fighter bay for additional support. I was thinking about something less expensive then my baby. The Alliance Crusader is the next best choice seeing as I lack the funds for an Anaconda right now. Getting one requires heading to Jameson Memorial. I've got the funds to purchase one and equip it for the mission at hand. Fighter hangar, SRV, DSS all needed for a mission like this. An Xeno scannner might help if we run into bug space. My biggest fear on this is that Far God Cultists are up to some freaky crap with the bugs. Can you imagine that? Humans and Thargoids..eww gross. Time to get the Lucretia out for a trip to Jameson.
