Malfunction or Sabotage?

Log recording from LT Carmen Welsh, pilot of the vessel Picture Perfect:This is the third instance of a nav beacon crashed planetside. This is an all too commonsighting recently. On all the previous findings, I have deciphered the data banks of the beacons and nothing seems to make sense. There are no signs pointing to software malfunction. Could this be the result of careless pilots or acts of sabotage? Only one previous beacon showed signs of collision with a ship. This was recorded in the data bank and confirmed with system authorities.
I have turned all my findings over to my CO, CMDR Lilli and she seems to agree that this is no mere software malfunction. This many beacons crashing for no reason? It doesn't add up. She has notified system authorities in the impacted systems and requested an investigation into the matter. We were granted authorization to investigate the beacons and relay all findings to system authorities and corresponding superpowers.
