Family: The Ties That Bond.

07 Dec 2020LilliSWE
As I sit in my office at Tanaka Oasis, I sigh at the stack of requisitions I need to sign to keep Ogoni up and running. I've lost count of the number of bounty vouchers I had to approve of since the new voucher increase galaxy-wide This is tedious work, but you gotta do what you gotta do. As I finish up the last voucher, I receive an encoded message from an unknown source.

"Admiral Lindholm, I have something that needs your immediate attention. This information is in regards to your remaining family. If you would like to find out more, meet me in Furukawa Enterprise in Sol. Be warned, this is time-sensitive. I can't promise how accurate the information will be after 24 hours. If you arrive, go to Cleg's Watering Hole and ask for Gizmo. -End Transmission."

Family member? I don't know anything about my family seeing as I was orphaned. I need to inform Vittoria of this. I have to go, and she needs to be clued in. She's still on the mend after the attack on her rescue mission, but she'll be able to fill in as acting Governor during my absence. I find Vee in the starlight lounge of our estate/ I sit down next to her, and with her hand in mine, I explain the message and what I have to do. She cups my face in her hand and tells me to do what I have to for family. She gives me a kiss goodbye and tells me to keep in touch to let her know I'm still safe.

I head towards the docking bay to warm up my ride. I decide to use my Diamondback Explorer because I am heading deep into Federal Space. I can't have any links to the Empire during these tense times. Time to ditch those glorious Imperial suits for a more rugged look. Got to blend in or it's lights out. I program the coordinates for Furukawa Ent on the nav computer and head out.

As I enter the No-Fire Zone of Furukawa and engage the auto-doc, I think back to the last time I was in Sol. I made that perilous and LONG trek to see Voyager. It was wicked long but definitely worth the history that was revealed within it. The ship touches down and I am greeted by the dock security. Dock security doesn't care if you're an Imperial, Federal, or even a Thargoid pilot as long as you're not a wanted criminal. It's system authority I need to make sure I avoid.
I make my way to the Cleg's to meet my mystery contact. I approach the bartender and ask for "Gizmo". He sends me in the direction of a shadowy figure sitting in the corner. As I get closer, a feminine figure comes into view. She tells me to have a seat and listen carefully.

"My name is Mira Hargrave. Your sister has been romantically linked to a religious fanatic from the Sublime Order of Van Maanen's Star. He has managed to brainwash her into abandoning her position as a Federal Agent and join the cult. The things I have heard about this cult are quite scary. They use women as slaves and have practices that rival even the Far God Cult. I don't know the specifics about it, but if you are to save her, we need to go now. The system is locked by permit to SOoVMS members only. I have a contact who can get us credentials to get in. I can inform you more en route, but time is of the essence."

I have no choice but to accept Mira's help. I have to rescue my sister from these cultists.
