Commander Adrella//Greymouth//3305-12-23 - Off to the mines
23 Dec 2019Adrella
Well, once again, I'm back in the Greymouth and heading off to mine. I've switched out one of my cargo modules for extra collector limpets, so hopefully, I'll be able to fill the hold a bit faster. My mining target is Omicron Capricorni B. It took 11 jumps to cover the distance from Phiagre, made all the longer by the constant need to refuel at the stars along the way.On arriving in the system, I refuelled then headed to the first planet of the second star, B1. It took a little while to cover the 11,000 Ls distance. I'd also picked up a tail, so I had to shake the Krait Mk II before starting my mining op. I cut the FSD out on the edge of second sun's furthest planetary orbit, waiting for the tail to get bored and move on.
After arriving at my destination, I noticed an error with my DSS - it wasn't showing up the registered hotpots, despite them being listed on my contacts panel. So, I simply found a painite spot and dropped into the ring.
The additional collecter certainly sped things up, but after filling a quarter of my hold, I realised how tired I was. I figured it made sense to hide out on an asteroid and rest. I'd also need to examine the DSS, see if I could find out what had gone wrong with it. I set the Greymouth on a rock, powered her down, set the proximity alarms, then headed to the back cabin.
