Commander Adrella//Jaguar//3306-01-02 - The Battle for HIP 98621

02 Jan 2020Adrella
After grabbing the Jaguar, I headed out into the black, moving to support the SJC's expansion into HIP 98621. I knew other commanders were opposing us at the main stations, so I left that to the larger Ghost Legion vessels, like wing member Hachiman and his Corvette, the Storm Bringer.

I headed to one of the smaller outposts. I picked up several missions, mainly courier ones. My first port of call was Molchanov Port in the Kongo system. Being a little far out allowed me time to plan my next few sorties, like my run to the Zenutet system. There, I was not only meant to deliver data, but also engage a known pirate, Samuel Cosgrove.

After my first delivery run to Molchanov Port, I plotted my next course. Heading to Zenutet would mean a delivery and taking on Samuel. I detected signals and intelligence suggestion Cosgrove was on my route to Hussey Hub, so I locked in the coordinates and headed in. Officially, he was a lot more dangerous than me, so this would be a bit of a gamble, but I suspected my modified Viper might give me the edge to beat him.

Dropping in on the stated location, I saw Cosgrove was piloting a Fer-De-Lance class ship, named the Brutal Grave. His escort of several Vultures should have deterred me, but I was too cocky. I engaged the pirate and was quickly shown the error of my ways. In seconds, my shields were down and I was having to outrun them. My FSD was damaged, meaning I needed to repair it before I could jump out. Once I was a safe distance, I rebooted my systems, and made best speed for Hussey Hub for repairs and to complete my courier mission.

While completing a few more courier mission, I was interdicted by a pirate, James C King. The pirate was flying a Viper Mk III as well called the Skull Raker. I quickly dispatched him. After a few more deliveries, I headed back to grab the Majestic.
