Commander Adrella//Banno Station//3306-02-04 - Long overdue maintenance
04 Feb 2020Adrella
After two months of near-constant travel and combat, I've finally had the time to dock the Artemis for an extended overhaul. I sent the deck crews away, deciding to complete the work myself for an extended stay. My focus was the control system - with the new flight stick and throttle control finally arriving, I was able to strip out the old systems and begin integrating the new one. My custom module approach means I need to make all my ships compatible with the same flight systems, as I take the controllers from ship to ship. While this greatly increased the wear-and-tear on the one module, it allows me to intuitively know how the system will always react.
As well as working on the Artemis, I've sent new specs for the deck crew at Wales City to implement across the rest of my fleet. By the time I arrive back, I'll be in a nice position to try out the flight controllers on my other vessels. I've also been working on my side project, earning my living working for a few different technology companies. This has kept me fairly busy, which has left me with less time for flying, but has its advantages.
Once I complete the overhaul on the Artemis, I'm taking a little time off. After months spent on ships and stations, I'm yearning for some sunshine on a beach, rather than that in space. I'll be heading for Sol, to the ancient ancestral home of my family, New Zealand. After a two week stint, I'll be ready to head back out into the black and help Ghost Legion and the SJC. Likely, we'll be fighting for control in HIP 98621 again.
