Commander Adrella//Endeavour//3306-06-18 - HIP 36601

Material gathering sucks. It's an incredibly tedious activity that takes too long and is annoying. I've had to venture 1,600 light-years from Atfero to find the systems containing the raw materials I need. The journey out to HIP 36601, which has several bodies in it with necessary mineral deposits, took around thirty minutes at 51 jumps. I'm glad I decided to take the Endeavour out, as it would have been double that in the Providence.Arriving in the system, I opened my contacts list and was blown away by the number of ships that were already in HIP 36601. Thirsty-two fleet carriers were scattered across the system. It gave me something to do while flying to the first landing zone, seeing which carriers I would be able to land at. Chatter on the comm channel was heavy, and it was good to see other commanders were around.
So far, I've managed to gather all the Polonium, Ruthenium and Tellurium I can hold. I'm now hunting Technetium, but have run out of steam for the monotony tonight. It's been around 3 hours of driving to sites, shooting crystals and gathering the shards. I've hunkered down in Endeavour near the deposit and will continue the gathering later.
Once I've filled the hold, I'm wondering whether to hitch a ride back on one of the carriers, or whether I jump slowly back to the bubble and do some exploring along the way. It would be a good opportunity to scout some new systems and see some new sights. Might be a nice change from driving my damn buggy around collecting crystals.
