Commander Adrella//SJCS Artemis//3306-07-16 - Bounty hunting and combat testing

Over the last few days, I've been combat testing my modifications to the SJCS Artemis, making small adjustments here and there to correct any issues I encounter. One of those was removing the inertial impact from the burst laser - the jitter it caused made the weapon utterly useless, as it couldn't hit a thing. Instead, I visited the Dweller and replaced it with a phasing sequence experimental effect. This means an element of the damage the burst laser does bleeds through the target's shields. Part of the combat testing has been trying out my new control column. The T16000m proved to be faulty, so I had to remove it. I was flying using only key inputs for a while, but hated that. It's fine for some casual jaunts, but actual combat and precise manoeuvring was challenging. I finally received a new T.FlightX One, and have spent some time playing with the inputs. It took 3 or 4 complete resets, but I think I've finally found a set of commands and bindings that are fit for purpose. Best of all, they handled the combat testing well, something that was the downfall for all the others.
Since I've been using this ship as a bounty hunter in SJC space, I've realised that my KWS and FWS were redundant. I've already placed the KWS in storage and installed a class A shield booster in its place, and think I'll do the same with the FWS. After speaking to a few other commanders, it seems like I've also made a mistake upgrading my 6A shields - I should have used 6C bi-weaves, so that will need rectifying soon.
If I do want to do some additional upgrades, I'm going to need to do another material farming run. I need to upgrade the Endeavour's FSD to have an experimental mass manager rather than stripped down to get a few extra light-years out of it, then will trade out the G5 raw materials to max out everything else, and head out to the raw farming locations again.
Once that's done, I'll need to stock up on encoded. Trading the G5 mats I get from the Jameson crash site is tedious, but seems the easiest way, so I guess I'll do another few runs there, then pick up the Majestic to farm the manufactured materials. Once complete, I should be well-stocked to make any additional upgrades easily, at least for a while.
At some point, I will need to refocus on gaining access to some additional engineers, but think I've got plenty to go on at the moment.
