Commander Adrella//SJCS Magellan//3307-08-17 - Sagittarius A* and the journey home

I dread to think how many light years I covered yesterday. I was so set on getting to Sag A* I barely stopped plotting courses. The Galaxy Router was an invaluable tool, letting me find neutron stars to boost my jump distance up to a max of around 250Ly. I stopped on occasion to discover a local systems' water world (no ELWs on my trip), but other than that, my survey diligence went out the window. On arriving at Sagittarius A*, it was quite a sight. Or lack of sight, to be more accurate. Watching space, light and time warp around itself was fascinating and terrifying. I encountered several cruise vessels when I dropped into the local beacon. I then headed for a local Fleet Carrier, the ISS Ballymaclare X7V-97L, to restock supplies, then started plotting a new course home.
It took around 250 jumps to make it back, but I was very single-minded about it. Plot, jump, get to a neutron star, plot, jump, repeat. I believe I had to stop about 4-5 times to pair the FSD, but overall, it was worth it. I came into the bubble, but decided not to head home to Pu City just yet. I have billions of credits worth of exploration data to drop off, and it's all about deciding where to unload it.
Overall, I was pretty happy with the trip, but don't think I'll be doing any solo exploration trips in the near future. Still, the Magellan more than proved herself as a very capable ship, and one I'd be happy to take out again. Just maybe not on my own...instead, I'll keep an eye out for group trips, and maybe with a fleet carrier.
