I've spent a lot more time in Broglie Terminal than I'd planned. Turns out getting your hull blown 9 and a half tenths to hell requires a few more repairs than usual.The SJCS Artemis had many structural problems and cracks in the chassis that needed fixing. It seems like almost a whole new ship. Luckily, I have the credit balance to cope with that repair bill many times over.
The Thargoids were driven out of 61 Cygni the other day and are being forced back on all fronts. There's a mixture of relief and trepidation in the AX forces leading the charge. Some feel this is the bugs on the ropes. The rest are waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Even if the Thargoids are pushed back to Sol and Cocijo becomes vulnerable, there's still the issue of it being over Earth. The destruction of a Titan creates a lot of debris, and the caustic cloud it causes would devastate Earth. Is the Federation really going to condone the near annihilation of humanity's homeworld?
Unless Aegis and the other AX forces have some sort of plan to prevent this, Earth will likely be ravaged by the explosion of Cocijo, even more so than it already is due to the Titan and supporting Thargoid force strikes.
On a separate (but connected) note, I've been working on my new control layout. My previous one proved less than efficient in combat, so I've been considering new options.
As the Artemis was still undergoing extensive repairs, I had to put the whole thing down as theory on my tablet. But now I can get back into the ship, it's time to make those adjustments. Hopefully, they will be a bit more intuitive than my previous attempt.
