"Its agreed, we will will sign up for the expedition". That was my final decision.I had thought long and hard over this and it seemed just right to take on. I still had a couple of weeks to prove myself and Excelsior but I was confident we could do this. A few weeks trip to the centre and back no big deal.
After a few weeks of mining, I was now running some missions to gain my Federation rank. That corvette had caught my eye. Was it worth all the trouble? No harm in having the chance to see, after all you could always sell it. Would it make a good exploration ship? That was my only nagging doubt.
Still 2 weeks to reach the starting point, time to swap over the configuration and load up with supplies before heading out into deep space. Also time to gain my Federation ranks, no harm at all in that. So back out into the void, checking the boards and picking up mission runs.
That was two days ago. Progressing nicely now. A few times pirates have tried to stop me, but Excelsior has shown her heels to them. Good ship indeed. Credits come in handy but my rank is what I need. Then I have my choice of ships and what I want to do.
"Right next waypoint and station. Auto launch, Excelsior."
