What a week!

Cmdr Log: 30 Aug 3305What a long week... I've been, I don't know, couped up? I guess that's what one could call it, all week long doing the silliest things, a variety of menial, administrative tasks, and its reall sucked! But, I guess that's the price one must pays to stay at a nice Star Port like Ray Gateway. I suppose it could be worse though. But finally, I got back into my ship, the EXOGIS, and I felt better immediately. What a great recharge it was to just sit in my char!
Anyway, I was supposed meet up with my buddy, Cmdr Korzhakov - or Korz - but my plans didn't quite work out - at first. He sent me a message that he had a few family chores that he had to finish up and would hail me when he was through. So, I decided to take EXOGIS out and fly her around Ray Gateway. I just wanted to get a feel for her, especially considering that she's fairly new. Plus, what a long and crappy week.
As I flew the EXOGIS around Ray Gateway, I was amazed at how heavy she felt opposed to my Sidewinder. She's fast and very responsive. Although I did try to maneauver her staying clear yet close to the Gateway as possible, but, unfortunately, I had a bit of a mishap when the RG snuck up on me under the hull. I rammed her a bit and banged her up pretty good. I immediately docked her and checked to see how badly I had damaged her. Hardly a scratch! In fact, the scratch I did find sort of suits her, so I think I'll leave her there for a spell. Is that weird? Maybe it's weird. Irrespective, I must remind myself to check her vertical thrusters and make sure the fuel vents are clear. I felt that she should have responded better. Hmmm... To my defense though, it didn't help that her view is sort of blocked by a huge and deep forward dash and HUD. The EXOGIS is not like the Lewis & Clark II, my old ASP Explorer. Boy, I sure did love that ship. But that's what happens when you decide to switch platforms; you walk away from everything. That's all right. One day, I'll get me another ASP Explorer - maybe sooner than later.
Waiting for Korz, I decided to wander into the shipyard. Being in the Diaguandri system, I get great deals on ships, which is one of the reasons why I moved to the Diaguandri System. It turned out that I found a lovely ASP Explorer for sale. I couldn't resist. I had to buy her, and I did. She's going to be the perfect vessel for mining. Now all I have to do is figure out how I am going to tell my wife. She wasn't too keen on my last ASP-EX. She didn't like sitting all alone below me. She prefers sitting next to me, and I suppose I don't blame her. Space travel is still new to her. But the plan was to connect with my buddy Korz and make the money back, and we did finally get together. I hopped into his new FDL and we made a lot of money together. I did not make as much as I had hoped, but it did pay for half of my expenses getting the new ASP-EX.
