The Void is so full...

...of events, goals, missions and pirates, fellow traders, explorers...It has been a while. My firm proposition to write a constant logbook is smashing against the thousands of things that are rocketing around my growing fleet. The last time I actually had time to sit down for a drink on a station lounge and type some stuff in here I was hundreds of light years away and I was planning a week long sortie out of the Bubble to put my DB Exp to some serious test before reaching out for the Edge.
Supplies and rations were piled in the cargo bay, fuel cells were full and I also had a new Arbre Magique hanging in the cockpit. Mango, of course.
A last, quick look to the news on Galnet before take off and... Oh, no! Famine risks in Diso and Orerve! So close to home. I could not just leave now that some of the Originals systems are in trouble. Not again. Damn it! This time I will do something good.
So, quick check on the bank account to see what I can buy and rush to the station shipyard. "A T-7 will be good enough", I thought. But the shipyard had none left!
"We just received this brand new T-6 from Lakon this morning, Sir", the sales girl told me. Well, she will be good enough, I guess. Ehm, the ship, not the girl!
The transaction was quick, as they always are, and the outfitting to meet my need took only another couple of hours. Credit to the guys on Garay Terminal for how quickly they removed everything to allow me to haul the highest amount possible of cargo canisters.
I kissed my DB Exp goodbye and off I was. The Diogo Harari maiden flight was nice and uneventful. The plan was to head towards Diso and trade some goods along the way to cover some of the costs but I made a noobie mistake with the market search and bought the wrong stuff in the wrong place... This is what happens when you do things in a rush. A little deviation (200LY go and back) allowed me to get rid of the ill fated cargo without losing too much credits but delayed my arrival to the scene. Not that bad, by the way, because visiting new systems is always a rewarding experience.
Once on the area of operation I set up a wing with an old friend and we started hauling pesticides into Shifnalport and Watson Station, 100t at the time. The goods were not easy to find, with so many other fellow CMDRs helping the Cause but it was good flying and the credits kept flowing in. A small contribution, it was, 'cause some "other business" called me off for a while but when I came back the reward was high enough to finally get the T-7. Right on time to start shuttling the Rockforth fertilizer to Wiley Port, on Teveri system.
The T-6 is good to move stuff around, even with no weapons and no shields, and it's quite capable of keeping those pirates away, dodging all interdiction attempts but, hey gals and guys, the T-7 is three times better! With a little help from the blueprints of Madame Farseer, and some pimping up of the core modules, she was able to move 304t each time and a clever set of goods to be sold back in the Sharon Lee Free Market in Orrere System paid of the effort very, very well. In the end I managed to move more than 17.000t with something short of 40M income between trading and CG reward.
Because yes, we all do it for the Cause. But the credits are a very nice add-on.
